Every business has risk — the question is what kind, and how much of it is within the company's control. Cyclical risk (a business that swings hard with the economy, like autos or commodities) is different from structural risk (a business facing a permanent shift, like a technology becoming obsolete). Concentration risk (too much revenue from one client, one region, or one regulator) is different from diversified risk. This score isn't meant to scare you away from a company — some genuinely excellent businesses carry real risk — it's meant to make sure you're going in with eyes open about what specifically you're betting will or won't happen.
